Corlann have launched a new recruitment drive, aimed at 3rd level students in Ireland who want to work in Galway’s care industry.

The organisation formerly known as Brothers of Charity services Ireland have announced a number of paid positions for any students over the age of 18.

This current drive is focused on their Galway adult care centres, which provide valuable support to people with physical and intellectual disabilities.

The organisation has outlined that any successful applicant will gain hands-on experience at one of their many facilities in the west of Ireland.

The position is described by Corlann as a ‘locum support worker’, meaning the role is a temporary one.

Recruiters for the organisation will be available to meet any interested students at Ballybane’s John Paul Services centre on Saturday March 7, from 10AM-3PM.

Anyone interested can apply at https://corlann.ie/join-our-team/, by emailing recruitmentwest@corlann.ie or over the phone at 091721500.

Applications are open and will remain so until 5PM on 10 March.

Renamed in 2026 year, the organisation’s new name combines cor, the Latin word for heart, and lann, the Irish word for place.

Operating in Ireland since the late 1800s, they have been providing services to individuals with intellectual disabilities in Ireland since, stating on their website that they do so with compassion, dignity, and commitment.
