The University of Galway Cricket Club swept Sunday’s UCD Indoor Intervarsity at Belfield, setting tempo from the opener and sustaining it across the competition. Accurate bowling and sharp fielding restricted RCSI to 42/6, before a blistering chase in 1.5 overs. Srajesh 28* off 8 with Zajeer 15* off 4 set the tone. Confidence and control became the day’s signature.

Against DCU Kangaroos, the batting hit top gear. Vishal delivered the standout knock: 40* off 15, supported by Srajesh’s busy 23 and Tanmay’s late sprint. The defense was decisive—Asad’s economy (1/5) and Karthik’s twin strikes squeezed the chase; Vishal added pace and a wicket to close out a 38-run win.

Momentum carried into the UCD Red clash, where UoG CC’s middle order surged. Impact bursts from Abhishek Zod and Sanjeev Kataria, with quick hands from Vishal and Muhammad Asad, pushed the total to 95/6. In reply, Srajesh’s double strike and Karthik’s tight overs held UCD Red to 62/3.

The final  versus UCD Blue demanded composure. UoG CC posted 77/6 in 8 overs, anchored by Asad’s 20* late and steady support from Srajesh, Zajeer, Vishal, and Sanjeev. Tight spells at the start, Karthik’s early breakthrough and Asad’s three calm overs, including a maiden sealed the game 68/3 and confirmed an unbeaten run. Asads brilliant performance in the finals all around which saw him score 20 runs as last man, bowl 3 overs conceding only 12 runs and 2 brilliant run outs ensured University of Galway Cricket Club were crowned champions at UCD Intervarsity 2025 in Belfield!
