Carer

Sat under the warm waving confident branches

The beckoning call of busy pavements

Rises over the immense rush of a summer’s afternoon

As the pitter patter of water

Comes out of the atmospheric bottle

One can’t help but think

“Is it now?”

Is it now that life has set upon you to appreciate friendly gift of shade by a giant

Is it now that you realise the safety and security that surrounds you

Is it now that every moursel of ambrosia matters even more

Is it now that your brain decided to capture the distant images of terror that you are allergic to

Whatever time, place, ability or safety that it is

You appreciate and thank those that lifted you

And should provide that same favour to others.

There aren’t enough people who populate this globe

That could ever out match mother’s domain

You know to treat her with respect

As you sit under the stretching giant to reflect

Maybe the water’s fall travels around to spread joy

That’s what she would have wanted
