April 2, 2014 By SIN Staff

The spring term at The Spanish Institute starts on the 29th of this month and will offer a variety of Spanish classes for beginner, improver, intermediate, and advanced levels. There are also courses available to children and teenagers including specialised courses for Junior and Leaving Certificate Spanish.

The new schedule of classes is available on The Spanish Institute Facebook page and will be featured on the new website, which will be launched later this week. All of the courses offered at The Spanish Institute are designed to be fun and interactive and use state-of-the-art teaching equipment as well as qualified, native Spanish teachers.

Previously known as The Language Institute, the newly developed Spanish Institute will incorporate the school’s seven years of experience in teaching languages and focus on becoming the centre of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture in Galway. Along with language courses, The Spanish Institute plans to offer a variety of Hispanic cultural events and activities. They are currently sponsoring a production of ‘La Casa de Bernarda Alba’ by famous Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca at the Town Hall Theatre.

The play opens this week on the 3rd of April and will feature many of the school’s Spanish teachers in starring roles. Galway has strong historical connections to Spain dating back centuries and The Spanish Institute hopes to preserve and develop our shared cultural relationship. “We love the Spanish language and Hispanic culture and want to bring them both to you,” says school director, Phil James, “No other language travels as well or reminds us with its sounds and rhythms of the rich layers, hues and tones of the many cultures its embraces”.

Spanish is spoken on four continents and is the official language of over twenty countries. Even a basic knowledge of the language can transform your travel experience and learning a language provides numerous professional and personal benefits. The Spanish Institute is dedicated to helping its students to achieve their language learning goals and support their ongoing development towards fluency. For information about any of the language courses on offer, contact The Spanish Institute by phone at 091 566759 or email at spanishintitutegalway@gmail.com. You can also find The Spanish Institute on Facebook at www.facebook.com/spanishinstitutegalway.
