Hosted by Galway’s premier live venue Monroe’s live, iRocks heats kick off Thursday 14 November. Over four heats, the 16 finalists will compete and present their music, both covers and originals. Finalists will compete in the grand finale on December 12th, hosted by Fergal Darcy.

An open voting on the iRadio’s Facebook page over the last few weeks resulted in the selection of 15 finalists from across Ireland, including original bands Blu Loves Milo, an alternative rock-punk band from Tuam, and Rofi James, last year’s NUI Galway Battle of the Bands winner.

Other original bands competing are TV after midnight, Podracer, Gigabyte and TransitGetaway. Some of the cover bands include Prominence Live, Reckless Youth and Flat Out. One wild card was awarded to Take the Stand, an original Galway band.

iRocks heats in Monroe’s are set for the following dates:
Heat 1: Thursday November 14th
Heat 2: Thursday November 21st
Heat 3: Thursday November 28th
Heat 4: Thursday December 5th
Grand final: Thursday December 12th
For full details on the gigs and the finalists check out iRadio’s website on www.iradio.ie. Doors at 10pm and tickets are 5 euro for anyone who wants to pop down this November and witness some great live music.
